Mitch Rothschild is a New York born pianist/composer. He began classical piano lessons at an early age. Later, he studied jazz piano with Roland Hanna, and Aesthetics and Ethnomusicology with Harry Smith. At the State University of New York, he studied classical piano and composition, taking courses with David Lewin and John Lessard.

Some of the people that Mitch has recorded or performed with include Sonny Sharrock, Tony Coe, Wayne Dockery, and countless other legendary musicians.

His first CD, Jazz Live, was released in January 2003 by French production company Koka Media (#2225). A second disk of classic jazz, entitled Cool Jazz, was released in May 2003 by the Dutch production company Dennis Music (#1334). The third CD, Reflective Piano, was released in December 2003 by Dennis Music (#1338). The latest CD, First-Class Lounge, was released in April 2004 by Dennis Music.
